The conference

The 5th International IMPETUS Conference brings together the IMPETUS user community — defence, industry and academia — for three days of simulation science on the southern Norwegian coast. Held every two years in Flekkefjord, it pairs deep technical sessions with a famously sociable programme, including the midsummer cruise aboard the veteran ship MS Sandnes.

IMPETUS Afea develops the IMPETUS Solver, a modern system for simulating extreme mechanics and transient dynamics — the leading platform for weapons-effect simulation. Its GPU-driven engines (finite element, discrete particle, surface SPH and CFD) cover air blast, terminal ballistics, shaped charge, fragmentation and underwater explosions across the BASIC (civil) and DEFENSE product lines. The self-funded company is based in Flekkefjord, Norway.
